Scooby Brown ~02/19/2012- 07/26/2026 It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we said goodbye to our beloved Scooby, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge after a long life filled with love. Surrounded by the family who loved him unconditionally, and peacefully outdoors where he loved to be, Scooby left this world knowing love, comfort, and peace. Scooby came into my life in 2012 as a stray puppy with a severely broken leg. He had already endured more than any puppy ever should, but when I looked into his beautiful eyes—one bright blue and the other half blue and half brown—I knew he deserved a chance. After his broken leg was repaired, I brought him home, never knowing that the little puppy I was trying to save would go on to become one of the greatest gifts of my life. For more than 14 years, Scooby was so much more than a dog. He was my best friend, my constant companion, my comfort, and a steady presence through every season of my life. He stood beside me through the hardest days and was there for every joyful one. No matter what life brought, Scooby was always there. He had a way of making our house feel like home simply by being in it. He greeted us at the door, followed me from room to room, went on countless adventures with us, and curled up beside me every night. He loved playing catch, being outside in the sunshine, going for car rides, and howling along to the harmonica. But more than anything, he loved simply being with his family. Scooby was an incredibly special part of my daughter’s childhood. He grew up alongside her and became her gentle, patient, and loving “big brother.” He was there for so many of her childhood memories, sharing in the everyday moments that became some of the most precious parts of our lives. Their bond was truly special, and I will always be grateful that she got to grow up knowing the kind of unconditional love only a dog like Scooby could give. Scooby had the sweetest heart and gave the purest kind of love. He was the gentlest and most patient dog, with a quiet, loving spirit that made everyone around him feel safe and loved. He brought comfort simply by being near us, and his presence had a way of making even ordinary days feel special. Looking back, I realize that I didn’t just give Scooby a second chance at life; he gave me a second chance at life. He gave us more than 14 years of love, memories, companionship, and happiness in return. He became woven into the fabric of our family and into so many of the memories that make our lives what they are today. There will never be another Scooby. His absence has left an enormous emptiness in our home and in our hearts. We will miss his sweet face, his gentle spirit, his familiar presence beside us, and all of the little things that made life feel complete because he was there. I will forever be grateful for every year, every adventure, every cuddle, every car ride, every silly howl, and every ordinary day we were lucky enough to share with him. Fourteen years never could have been long enough. Scooby was loved every single day of his life with us, and he gave us far more love than we could ever put into words. He is forever a part of our family, forever a part of our story, and forever my heart dog.
