Name: Lucy (Lulu) Jones Born: April 30, 2008 Passed: Sept 21, 2022 To our darling girl Lucy, looking down from up above, We hope that you can hear these thoughts. They’re sent to you with love. I didn’t want a little dog, or so I used to say, Until you came into our life, that very special day. A three-hour drive to pick you up, to me seemed so absurd, Then we headed home, just you and me, without a single word. Just a pair of little puppy eyes, staring up at me, As if to say “You’re gonna love me. Just you wait and see.” We got to your forever home, it turns out you were right. When you met your forever family, it was true love at first sight. In that moment it was clear to me that this was just the start. But little did I know that little you would steal my heart. You helped make our house a happy home, with your wagging little tail. And if our day had been a bad one, you made it better without fail. When we’d leave for work each morning, you were sad to see us go. When we returned you got attention, or you’d surely let us know. If you wanted to be petted, you’d just nudge us with your head. When you were tired of our company, you’d go hide beneath the bed. You loved your birthday ice cream, Christmas burgers from McD’s, Scrambled eggs for breakfast or a side of mac and cheese. You hated noisy thunderstorms, and fireworks scared you too. It gave us extra cuddle time, but that was us protecting you. A basket full of favorite toys, you knew each one by name. You played by your own set of rules, no matter what the game. Lazy Sundays watching Hallmark, it was Mom and Sleepy Head. When the little hand struck eleven, you’d let her know it’s time for bed. And when I put those socks on, you knew that meant a walk. You had a way to say “I love you”, even though you couldn’t talk. Riding shotgun on your mommy’s lap, wet nose out in the breeze. All these little things about you, are now just precious memories. We knew that it was best for you, still we couldn’t help but cry Because our hearts all broke to pieces, when it was time to say “Goodbye” How we miss those little clicks as you came walking down the hall. You gave the bestest kisses, I think we miss those most of all. We treasure all the time we had, from the moment that you came, You may not be our flesh and blood, but you’re family just the same. Though missing you is painful, we wouldn’t trade a single day. 'Cause every moment you spent with us, made life better in some way. It’s said that time will heal all wounds. That’s not been true so far. For the deep ones heal more slowly and they leave a lasting scar. I’d like to think that Rainbow Bridge really does exist. And we’ll all be back together, but for now you’re deeply missed. The tears will fade eventually, and allow fond memories to start. You may no longer be beside us, but you’ll live forever in our hearts. Goodbye sweet Lucy. We’ll miss you every day baby girl. Love, Your Forever Mom and Dad
