JoJo Conn

JoJo Conn crossed the Rainbow Bridge on March 10th, 2025, peacefully in the arms of her mom and dad. JoJo was born on April 7th, 2019, in Fort Wayne, IN. On May 31st, 2019, Jessica and Colton won the puppy lottery by taking her home. JoJo’s days were filled with joy and adventure. She adored cuddling with her mom, wrestling with her dad, and exploring the sandy shores of Hilton Head Island. Her favorite walks were through Mounds State Park, and she loved visiting grandma and grandpa’s house in Lapel. JoJo enjoyed playing hide-and-seek, stomping in creeks, relaxing in her backyard, and enjoying ice cream with her favorite people. Family gatherings were never complete without JoJo. JoJo loved celebrating birthdays... She would sing along too! JoJo always greeted her family with a toy and leaned on them to hug them goodbye. JoJo would often “growl” for attention or to ask for nose kisses. She was always the life of the party! JoJo went camping, hiking, boating, tailgating, kayaking… She went anywhere her mom and dad went. JoJo’s life was short, but she had a great one. JoJo was good at a lot of things—well, except for fetch (she had no interest in returning the ball, only in being chased), but when it came to being a loyal and loving companion, she was simply the best. JoJo loved her people. She shared a particularly special bond with her grandparents, David and Lisa. On many occasions, she would eagerly rush into the garage, waiting by the car, hoping her parents would take her to visit them. Weekend dinners at their house were some of her happiest moments. David and Lisa often gave JoJo a plate of her own, filled with her favorite foods. When Jessica and Colton were on vacation, David and Lisa would watch JoJo. With them, JoJo was on vacation too! They loved to spoil JoJo with treats, new toys, and exciting adventures. But what JoJo loved most was simply being in their company. At their house, you would often find JoJo on David's lap or "talking" to Lisa. JoJo loved being with them so much that she often wouldn’t want to leave their house, standing firm and not moving a paw. JoJo also treasured time spent with her aunt and uncle, Hannah and Luke, who added even more joy to her life. Hannah and Luke took great care of JoJo. Hannah was the fun aunt. Hannah wanted JoJo to explore. She took her to football fields to run and play. She took her on walks in the rain. JoJo knew that Hannah bent the rules for her… That’s what made her so fun! Hannah let JoJo steal her flip-flops, chase after squirrels, and get muddy. JoJo loved laying in bed with Hannah. Hannah would always make sure the ceiling fan was just right and that JoJo was covered in a blanket. JoJo loved to play the game, “Where’s Luke?” She’d race down the stairs, excited to find him, whether it was for a game or simply to let him know that dinner was ready. Luke was always a constant presence in JoJo’s life, often taking her on walks during family outings at Mounds State Park. JoJo loved being the leader, but Luke was never far behind, always there to keep up with her. JoJo also cherished time spent with Grammie, Jessica’s grandma. She loved visiting her and being part of the family gatherings at her house. JoJo had a special way of showing her love and affection—often sitting on Grammie’s feet and leaning gently against her, as if offering her protection and comfort. JoJo was happiest when spending time with her family. JoJo was always great with little ones, too. She had a fascination with Jessica and Colton’s niece and nephew, Jocelyn and Hendrix. JoJo visited them often in Cincinnati at Colton’s parents’ house, Robb and Charae’s. Holidays and family celebrations spent at the Conn’s house were often a joyful chaos. JoJo always tried to keep up with Jocelyn and Hendrix—chasing them in their Little Tikes Cozy Coupe, playing hide-and-seek, and going to the park. It was clear that JoJo would have been the best big sister. Robb and Charae liked to stay active, and JoJo had fun taking walks with them, going kayaking, and joining them while they gardened. After a full weekend in Cincinnati, JoJo was exhausted! Those little ones wore her out in the best way. Above all, JoJo loved her mom and dad. JoJo was always by her mom’s side. JoJo followed Jessica everywhere, watching her every move. They had a deep, soul connection. JoJo looked at Jessica differently. Jessica always knew what JoJo needed, just by how she would look at her. JoJo waited downstairs with Jessica each night before bed, refusing to go to sleep until she did. JoJo also wouldn’t get out of bed in the morning until Jessica did. JoJo laid outside of the bathroom door when she showered, followed her into the laundry room, walked with her to the mailbox, etc. JoJo loved resting her head on the arm of the couch, creating the perfect view of Jessica cooking or cleaning in the kitchen. JoJo was Jessica’s shadow. JoJo often wanted her mom to hold and kiss her, cuddling each night on the couch. Jessica would talk to JoJo daily about how much she loved her, missed her while she was at work, and what the plans were for the upcoming weekend. JoJo was Jessica’s best friend… And vice versa. Colton and JoJo had a connection from the beginning. In 2019, when Jessica was in grad school, Colton drove to Fort Wayne to choose his companion. Colton met a whole litter of puppies that day on the farm. Many of the puppies were scared or hesitant to interact with him. It wasn’t until JoJo showed up that everything changed. JoJo and Colton had an immediate connection. She walked in between his legs, curled up against him, and looked up smiling. Right then, Colton knew she was meant to be his dog. A few days later, Jessica and Colton came to pick her up. They brushed hay off of her back and took her home. JoJo moved into three apartments before settling into a home. She always adjusted well to change. Moving never seemed to bother JoJo because her dad was there. JoJo felt safe with him around. Some of Colton’s favorite memories with JoJo were coming home after work to cuddle and teaching JoJo how to “talk." JoJo sure had a lot to say! Through all of life’s ups and downs, JoJo was always there for Colton and Jessica, and they were there for JoJo too. JoJo was a happy, strong girl. On March 8th, 2025, JoJo became sick suddenly. After x-rays, ultrasounds, and bloodwork, JoJo was diagnosed with untreatable liver cancer. JoJo’s last days were spent with many hugs, kisses, sunny days, yummy food, and her favorite people. JoJo passed peacefully at Carter Veterinary Medical Center on March 10th, 2025. JoJo passed without pain, lying in her mom and dad’s arms. JoJo had her bed, fuzzy blanket, and toys with her as well. JoJo received more love in 5 years than most dogs receive in a lifetime... JoJo gave her family the most love they’ve ever felt in 5 years too. JoJo is dearly missed by her family. They know that she is being taken care of in Heaven by Grandma Jean Anne and Pappie, two people who she loved dearly. JoJo’s family will think of her every time they make a scrambled egg, see a sock on the floor, open the door to walk in their house after work, etc. They will be reminded of her love daily. They cannot wait to be reunited with her again. Rest in peace, Joey girl. We love you. -Mom & Dad
