Snugs Banks

Our Snugs, also known as "Snugger Buddy" or "Snuggers", passed away in the flower bed, one of her favorite places to sleep on September 26, 2024. Snugs came to our porch in the summer of 2008 so we don't know when she was born but was around one and a half to two years old at that time. She was so friendly, unlike the other strays that have been around, so we named her Snuggers. We don't know if she was dumped or got out of her home but she hung around and became friends with the people in six houses on the block. Although she went from house to house getting loved on and fed, she picked our house to call home. We are so glad she did! Snugs loved being an outside cat even after one of the neighbors tried to make her an inside cat for about 6 months. Snugs' favorite activities were sunbathing, pawing at you to be petted, laying in your lap, and walking with us when we walked the dogs. It was like we walked the cat too but without a leash. She hated having her ears touched and it would often cause her to shake her head. Snugs could be seen daily walking from our house to the house of the only other original family still on the block. She knew that around 3:00 p.m. the daughter got home from school and she could get fed. Snugs made friends with the other families between our house and theirs but didn't hang out there. Snugs has been a wonderful pet. Even though she was an outdoor kitty, we would bring her into the basement on cold and dreary days, especially at night. She really didn't like being inside and would meow to go out. We knew it was best for her to stay in but after about the hundredth meow for the morning, we would open the door. Sometimes she would start to go out the door but would feel the cold and change her mind. That didn't keep her from meowing to go out even just minutes later. Other times, she would go out the back door, go around to the front porch, and sunbathe. When she was ready to come back in, she would paw at the front door. Snugs leaves behind her human parents, Dan and Donna Banks and her human sister, Hannah Banks. Snugs had several pet siblings including two dog sisters, Oreo and Nina, inside cat sisters Mittens, Lil Bit, and Alice along with an indoor cat brother, Rum Tum Tugger. Her porch kitty siblings include sisters, Harley and Calico Jane and porch brother Ernie. She was proceeded in death by porch kitties, Kitty, Lucky, and Bert. Snugs also leaves behind special human friends, Arri, Kim, and Gary. Snugs will be greatly missed by all.
