Polly Hoppes

A Tribute to Polly Hoppes as written by her Pet Mom, Debbie: Polly was a beautiful green and blue parrotlet. Weighing less than 1 ounce, she had an enormous personality. I inherited Polly in 2011. Since Polly was my first bird child, I had a lot to learn. I soon realized that Polly and I developed a deep bond which was to grow much deeper over the next 9 years. Polly was quite possessive of me, food, and toys. She didn't accept change and was very comfortable with routine and schedule. Polly's favorite perch was on my shoulder, snuggling against my neck, cooing until she fell asleep. She loved to hang upside down, so I nicknamed her "bat girl". Polly loved popcorn treats, sunflower seeds, millet, and dried greens. When she saw that I was eating, she would run to her food dish and eat with me. Most mornings, we would do our "chicken stretches" and shake our "tailfeathers" together. Polly enjoyed looking at herself in the mirror, talking to her friend that she saw there. Polly loved bells, ladders, balls, and many other toys. She loved to sit atop my head and bite my feet. Polly's adorable and amusing bird antics will never be forgotten. Her soft chirping and cooing are memories that I treasure. I am very honored and fortunate to have had Polly in my life. I miss her tremendously, but her legacy will never fade. I can only imagine that my green goddess Polly is now soaring high above the Rainbow Bridge. Polly was preceded in death by her pet sisters and brothers: Sam, Silkie, KiKi, Zoie, Ebbie, and Pearl. Leo (cat brother) continues to take excellent care of me. Thank you, my sweet Polly, for giving me memories that I will hold dear, forever.
