Cujo “JoJo” Parks – Gillespie Cujo 14 of Alexandria, passed away 09/21/2021 at 9:53am after a long fight with many health problems. He left the world a better place for all who knew him. We are fortunate to have been with him for the time he was here. He will be missed. He was also known as JoJo, Joey, Buddy, Little Buddy, Little Squirt and Little Joe. Cujo was born in Anderson and moved to Alexandria in 2012 where he was treated like royalty. He enjoyed running in the back yard, (The first back yard he had ever had) eating cheese (any kind) and Wendy’s cheeseburgers (no bun). He occasionally chased a squirrel, but never caught one. Other than food his greatest love was full body massages. He hated the lawn mower the door bell and baths. He loved his family. He would dance and howl when we would come home. Coming home will never be the same. We are truly heartbroken and will never completely get over our loss. I know he is waiting on us over the rainbow bridge happy and healthy. Cujo was born with a disability. We had to build ramps all over the house to help him get around. Cujo was diagnosed with congestive heart failure two years ago. On the morning of September 21st 2021 Cujo was having trouble breathing. We rushed him to the hospital but there was nothing that could be done. This went on longer than it should have. We tried to keep him alive through medication and love, but his body gave out. If there are no dogs in heaven, then it is way over rated! There has to be dogs in heaven if it is truly paradise. His human mother was there the day he was born and helped deliver him. She kept him because he was born disabled and she was afraid he would be neglected or abused because of his disability. She was holding him when he passed on. We were both with him no matter how bad it hurt. And it did. Cujo’s disability affected his back legs and he had a seizure disorder. He was on four medications twice a day for over two years. But he didn’t let it slow him down. He never gave up. Unfortunately his body did. In the end, he was in pain and medication couldn’t help him. He was a very sweet, friendly and good natured dog. Though we are sad and will miss him, he is no longer in pain. Cujo is survived by his parents David Gillespie and Ronda Parks and a Chihuahua companion, Fawn. Video Tribute to Joey. https://youtu.be/uHMp1iA2BEc Cujo was proceeded in death by his Chihuahua companion Ebony in 2019. https://www.loyalandtrue.com/obituaries/Ebony-Parks-Gillespie/ I know they are playing by the Rainbow Bridge waiting for us to cross. We will meet again.
